the destinations the Dead Sea can offer

The Dead Sea in recent years has become a huge natural Health and Beauty spa which can alleviate the conditions outlined, the treatment of Psoriasis has been particularly successful with people returning on a regular basis for 'Top-Up' treatments.

The Dead Sea is part of the 5-Million year old Great Syrian-African Rift Valley, It is 400mtrs., (1,320ft) below sea level and is the saltiest and most Mineral laden body of water in the world, every litre of water contains 30% salt and Minerals and the Low Altitude , High air temperatures, low rainfall, high atmospheric pressure and dry pollen-free Oxygen rich air, all combined contributes to a remarkable feeling of well being, a total feeling of relaxation, which is such a bonus in these day's of modern stress and tension.

Most of the Hotels are on the shore of the Ein Bokek area of the Dead Sea grouped together with shops a few bars and a small shopping centre that will cater for anything you may have forgotten, You will not need much in the way of clothes, as you don't wear them much during the day!!! Except of course if you go out or for a swim in the Hotel pools or the Dead Sea itself.

Petra In Jordan

Since the signing of a border agreement between Israel and Jordan in 1995 travel between the two countries has become much easier, the Border crossing is at Eilat on the Israeli side and Aqaba on the Jordan side, you require a visa to cross this border but there are travel companies who will arrange all the details for you once you are in Israel and If in Jordan the same applies, one of the advantages of this is you are now able to visit Jordan from Israel and in particular the City of Petra, Myself and 3 others took this opportunity to visit Petra in October 2005 and It is an opportunity I would recommend to anybody whilst in the area.

It is generally understood that all the buildings carved into the Sandstone rock face are actually Nabatean Tombs and not alway's the use that " modern" names have been given to them such as the Treasury.
